CBA Spring 2008 End of Season Tournament Rules
Below please find the rules for the End of Season Tournament:

  1. Standard recreation game rules apply for this tournament except where noted below.
  2. Home team will be responsible for the official book.
  3. Visitors will be required to operate the scoreboard.
  4. A coin flip by the coaches before the umpires arrive at the field before each game will determine the home team.
  5. If a game ends with a score tied, the game shall continue using a modified California Tie-Breaker Rule for one inning.

CALIFORNIA TIE-BREAKER DEFINATION:

  • Each half inning will start with the bases loaded and one (1) out.
  • Each team will continue the batting order from the previous inning
  • With the three (3) previous batters occupying the bases
  • With the last batter occupying 1st base
  • The next batter occupying 2nd base
  • The 3rd batter occupying 3rd base.
  • In the event that the one extra inning ends in a tie, the winner will be determined by the score after the 1st inning, if still a tie, then the score after the 2nd inning and so on. In the event that the score was tied in each inning, the winner will be determined by coin-flip.

Example:
The game ends in a 3-3 tie.
The visiting team determines the # 4 batter is due up.  The team will put the # 3 batter on first, the # 2 batter on second, and the # 1 batter on 3rd.  There will be one out in the inning and both teams will play one inning to determine a winner.
