I have been involved with the Colleyville Baseball Association since 2005, when my oldest son began playing tee-ball. His younger brother began in 2006 and between the two I have either coached or been an assistant for 11 teams over the past three years. I served as the 8U age group commissioner for the past year before being elected to the Board for the upcoming year.
I grew up 100 miles west of here in a small town, where I played baseball, football and basketball through high school. From there, I went on to TCU and managed to stay on the baseball roster for a couple of years as a pitcher / outfielder.
Coaching kids and being involved in youth sports is an inherited calling for me. My father served in every capacity from coach to fundraiser to groundskeeper to league president, starting my first season of little league until I played my last summer league game two weeks before heading off to college.
My wife Suzanne and I live in Colleyville and have three kids. I am honored to serve the CBA and the community by helping to bring the greatest game – and the life lessons it teaches – to our kids.
